We benchmark every offer against market value derived from thousands of real used-gear transactions. That's the foundation — not list prices or asking prices, but what gear actually changes hands for.
Your condition answers move the offer up or down from a baseline. "Good" condition with no damage is the baseline. Damage, heavy logo wear, missing parts, modifications, or smoke odor reduce it. Excellent or pristine condition can push it above baseline.
Choose store credit instead of cash and we add 10% to your offer. It's our way of thanking sellers who reinvest with us — and it's the highest payout option we offer.
You can list privately on the major used marketplaces and potentially clear more, but that comes with fees, shipping costs, listing time, flake-out buyers, and weeks of waiting. What we offer is convenience: a fair, fast, guaranteed price with no listing logistics, no shipping headaches, and payment within days. How soon will I hear back?

What if I disagree with the offer?
Just reply to our confirmation email. We can talk it through — sometimes there's context (rare finish, recent service, original case) that adjusts the offer up.
What does "Good condition" actually mean?
No major damage. All parts present and functional. Normal playing wear (light scratches, faded logos) is fine. Cymbals with no cracks or keyholing. Drums with intact hardware and shells. If you're unsure between Good and Fair, pick Good — we'll verify in person.
What if my exact item isn't in the dropdown?
We have ~2,000 items in our database but we miss things. Email us at taylor@heritagedrums.com with make, model, size, and a photo. We'll quote it manually within 24 hours.
How does pickup work?
We pick up within a 200-mile radius of our shop (45640). Fee is $25 base + $0.80/mile round-trip — calculated automatically when you enter your ZIP. Outside 200 miles, drop-off only.
Is the offer guaranteed?
The instant offer is firm assuming the gear arrives matching your description. If condition is materially different on inspection (undisclosed damage, missing parts, etc.), we'll discuss adjustment with you before finalizing.
How do I get paid?
Cash or PayPal — your choice. Or take store credit and get 10% more.
